University of Helsinki Aikido Club Seitokai

Seitokai is an Aikido club affiliated with Helsinki University. Seitokai was established in 1980 and is now one of the most well known Aikido clubs in Finland. We have a lot of activities: training classes five times a week, weekend seminars during the year and outdoor practice camps at the summer time.

Members of Seitokai are students of Helsinki University or some other university in the Helsinki metropolitan area or employees of Helsinki University. If you're studying in Helsinki University or some other university in the Helsinki metropolitan area or an employee of Helsinki University, you're welcome to join our beginners course.

Seitokai is affiliated with Finland Aikikai, which is affiliated with Aikikai Foundation. We follow the teachings of Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba. We mainly practice techniques taught by Yasuo Kobayashi -sensei (President of Aikido Kobayashi Dojo, 8th Dan Shihan) and Kazuo Igarashi -sensei (President of Aikido Igarashi Dojo, 7th Dan Shihan).
